Practice Areas

Smith Taylor, PLLC represents individuals, families, and businesses across Oklahoma in matters where the outcome actually matters — a construction project gone wrong, a serious injury, a business dispute, or the plan that decides what happens to everything you have built. Each of those requires something different from a lawyer. All of them require preparation, candor, and a firm willing to take the case to a jury if that is where it needs to go.

Civil Litigation

Civil litigation covers disputes between individuals, businesses, and organizations seeking money damages or a court-ordered remedy. We handle breach of contract, business and partnership disputes, property and boundary disputes, fraud and misrepresentation claims, and collection actions. We take the case from the first demand letter through appeal, and we prepare it for trial regardless of whether it gets there.

Construction Litigation

Construction disputes involve owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers — often all at once, and usually over money. We handle defective work claims, delay and disruption, change-order and scope disputes, mechanic's and materialman's liens, payment claims, and bond claims. Oklahoma's lien deadlines are short and unforgiving. Call before one runs.

Personal Injury

When someone else's carelessness injures you, the insurance company begins building its defense the same day. We represent people hurt in car and commercial truck collisions, on dangerous property, and by defective products, along with families pursuing wrongful death claims. We work on contingency — no fee unless we recover for you.

Estate Planning

A plan is what keeps your family out of probate court and out of an argument with each other. We draft wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and transfer-on-death deeds, and we structure plans so that assets pass without a court proceeding wherever Oklahoma law allows it. Flat fees, quoted before we start.

Criminal Defense

Our trial practice was built in criminal court, where cases are won on cross-examination and lost on unpreserved objections. That is the same preparation we bring to every civil file.

Contract Law

Contract law is the set of rules for making enforceable promises between people or businesses. It needs an offer, acceptance, something valuable exchanged, and both sides intending to follow through. We draft and negotiate contracts on the front end, and enforce or defend against them in court when one side doesn't hold up their end.

Insurance Bad Faith

Insurance companies owe policyholders a duty of good faith and fair dealing. When a claim is wrongfully denied, delayed without justification, or paid far less than it's worth, that duty has likely been breached. We hold insurers accountable under Oklahoma law and pursue the full value of what the policy actually promised.
